  • Can I play music in my videos?

    Even music that is listed as “royalty free” is no longer royalty free if you are using it in videos for sale. If you have a written contract with an individual artist you can use that music. You are liable for any music in your videos that is not legally being used.
    Most student have access all their favorite music online and can play in the background. You can also make song recommendations in the class descriptions for students.

  • Do I need to have liability insurance?

    We recommend all instructors have their own personal or company liability insurance policy. Check online for affordable instructor insurance.

  • Do I need a waiver for instructors or students in my video classes?

    For any instructors that teach for you on your studio or appear in your videos, you will need to have them sign a “Likeness Agreement Form” giving you permission to use them in the video. See attached sample.

  • What if I have other instructors on my site?

    This is your studio so you are responsible for paying or setting up contracts with outside instructors.

  • What equipment should I use to film my classes?

    You can use any video equipment. See attached link for some recomendations.

  • How do I get paid?

    You will be paid through Stripe Marketplace. Stripe charges a 2.9% + .30 transaction fee. Depending upon your country of origin, payments either weekly or monthly.

  • How much do I charge my students?

    The minimum you may charge your students is $15/mo, $59/6mos/$99 yearly. You may choose a higher price that this tier.

  • Is there a setup fee?

    No setup fees.

  • Why do I need a credit card on file?

    In order to give the highest level of customer service to our students, all instructors must have a valid credit card on file to confirm your identity and process refunds. When you student membership moves to the next tier you account will be charged for the monthly service fee.

  • What happens to my videos if I cancel?

    You own the videos and will have the original content that you sent to us in your own files. MYSO can load and send into dropbox if requested.

  • Can I cancel at any time? What happens to my students that have already paid?

    If you choose to cancel or stop teaching online, you will finish out that monthly cycle with your students. If you have sold yearly memberships to students, YOU will need to issue a refund from your stripe account to those students for the balance of their membership.

  • How long are your contracts?

    You sign up for a monthly contract and can cancel at any time.

  • What are the minimum technical requirements?

    You will need to have access to internet connection to upload your classes on the web.

  • I already teach classes using Skype, how is MYSO different?

    My Yoga Studio online is a platform that allows you to have your own online yoga studio, with your branding, your colors, your own marketplace for generating additional revenue. You can create a library of video classes and also LIVE stream private or public classes. We are a global community of students and teachers growing and supporting each other.
